We love asparagus and usually have it 2-3 times a month. Mostly we steam it but found a great recipe a few weeks ago and replicated it tonight. Take a pound of asparagus, cut the woody bottoms off, wash and let dry for a few minutes. Rub 2 T EVOO over the asparagus align in a single layer on a baking dish or two. Sprinkle a bit of sea salt and a shake or two of coarse black pepper over the asparagus. Bake for about 10 minutes in a 400* oven until it’s tinder on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside

Mix the juice of 1 lemon, 1/4t powdered garlic, and 2T fresh ground Parmesan in a bowl

Cover the asparagus with the “mix” and serve immediately. Mmmm mmm good

This was a side with center cut pork chops and baked cubed butternut squash

Have you ever tried white asparagus. It's a particular delicacy in Germany.

I tend to grill it...start as you described, with oil & herbs/seasoning as desired, and then I cook it on the cool side of the grill while the meat cooks over the flames.

Yep that's how we do asparagus too--very tasty!

I don't like it steamed, and I don't like big stalks of asparagus--I only like the thin ones (baby asparagus?)

I thought about how to construct a comedic reply that would indicate something different than what you meant but I decided to just let it go tonight. I'm evolving as an adult... tonight.

Love it, but it seems to hover around $3.99 and 5.99 lb. here.

Great side for just about any meat.

I like fresh young Asparagus steamed or grilled.

My wife prefers a spritz of spray butter and a sprinkle of salt on hers.
But I have a preference for a drizzle of balsamic reduction and a little sea salt.

Bet you didnt expect that refinement from a neanderthal pirate did you!

    Be an adult @Torren61

I’ll do it on the grill occasionally but I use a grilling mat.

One of my favorites is doing shrimp & asparagus on the grill with a lemon, garlic, red pepper flake, butter sauce. Getting good shrimp here is a crap shoot at best so it’s a rarity

The “organic” that was at the store tonight (no other type) was $3.99 for a half pound. Usually the asparagus I normally get runs $2.29-$3.25/pound. But everything, except rum, is expensive here

At least you didn't say "dribble".:lol:

In all seriousness, I love to do asparagus in the oven like that. We often use balsamic vinegar in place of the lemon juice. Plus you can get flavored balsalmics to add a little something extra.

I missed the chance to use "dribble"?

"My bad" (as my kids might say), I must have been distracted by a flying car.
