Custom shop only would be my bet. Too time consuming to take orders for custom paint on a mass produced unit.

Yup, what tubedude said; CS would be the only option.

That’s what the Mod Shop does.
A small premium over MiA and your options and colors rapidly assembled and sold direct OR through a Custom Shop dealer.

    +1 what @rstaaf said.

Nope. Lots of finishers can do it though. Check your local Google

Yes but then you need to order about 250 or 500 of that and they will call it a FSR.

either Custom Shop, or check with local amp techs as they may know someone who can spray custom colors. Way back in 94 before the custom shop I found Mark Scime in Chicago, who had painted guitars for Urge Overkill and painted my PPG Green "Gumby" telecaster body. At some point I'll get another Tele body painted in PPG Fathom Blue Metallic (from the 67 Pontiac paint codes) to match my Fathom Blue Metallic convertible. Lake Placid is close, but Fathom Blue has way more pearl in it...

I'd be hesitant to take the body to an auto shop unless they're good at doing light coats, and you'd need to sand, fill the grain and sand again before having them spray it.

Joe M I really want a CAR strat but only one volume and one tone control ( ala Knopfler's Schecter). Would I be in the same category?
Schecter no longer make/sell that model.
BTW a friend lent me his Schecter Tele- brilliant.

Yeah they would, about 50 years ago...

The models/colors you see are what’s available

They especially aren’t going to do it on a low priced model, too time consuming and not enough profit margin to do only one

As others say that’s what fender custom shop is for or the newer fender mod shop

I’m kind of curious what fenders reply is going to be

    Thanks .
Looks like I'll search for a CAR body and use all my strat parts as well as design a circuit or a SD site circuit.

What Fretting out said; to get what you're looking for, you'd have to go to the CS, not the mod shop.

What Joe M said - for Fender, it's Custom Shop. But since you're talking about a Schecter it might be less expensive to get a custom-built Schecter than to get a Fender CS build. I didn't realize that Schecter had dropped the "Sultan" model that was out a few years ago that was a re-creation of Knopfler's old red one with the single tone control and the mini-toggle switching.

EDIT: Actually a made-to-order SSS Schecter with the master volume/master tone/5-way blade switch configuration would be $2,799 here in the USA - not sure if that is MAP or list. I know it's going to be a lot more in Australia, but that's going to be at least $1,000 less than a Fender CS here in the USA.

Thanks John C - That's still easily affordable if it were AUD even USD.

One of these days I'm going to buy an Eric Johnson Signature in Palomino Brown that only was made with the Rosewood neck. Then I'm going to buy one of the Eric Johnson Signatures with a white blonde body that comes with a maple neck. And then I'll swap the neck on them both, and have two amazing looking Strats.
