I really dig the choices you made on this build. Unique, but still tasteful. That's a looker for sure. Congrats man!

ILL...? And “Smitty”...one of my roommates had a cousin that went by that nickname at U if I...not an uncommon one I suppose. You aren’t related to the Williams gang from Brocton are you?

Thanks for the compliments on the guitar! Delivery day is Tuesday!

I grew up in Champaign, and went to U of I (87-92). But no, not related to the Williams gang. You and I both will be waiting for the delivery truck Tuesday. I have my Musikraft neck coming.

It has arrived. Gorgeous. Some fun extra touches—rosewood switch tip with pearl top. Tortoise buttons on nickel Waverly tuners. The piece of roasted ash used for the body is absolutely stunning. And the piece of Brazilian rosewood for the fretboard is gorgeous.

Sounds are very very sweet. I have some dialing to do to get a little better balance between the bridge and neck—oddly enough the neck pickup has a noticeable bump up in level from the bridge. Middle positions are especially nice. But I need more than 5 min of playing to get a better feel...ha
