Yes, I think she has the respect of her competitors as well.

Well done Ash. (oh no, that sounds like a relic'd tele body.)

And, finally, NSW is playing league properly.

A strike for sensible people, a good role model for the young and indigenous Australians, and isn't it a relief to see a pro match with no grunting.

I fear it will be short lived, but good for her.

I get the impression that if it doesn't last too long she won't lose any sleep over it. Nice to see a well adjusted sports person for a change.

That would be the antithesis of Ash's outlook I suspect, but yeah I get it

On the contrary - she is like Ken Rosewall, Evonne Goolagong-Cawley, Pat Cash, Lleyton Hewitt she's more the norm for a successful Australian sportsperson.

Gracious in defeat or victory, acknowledging her opponents, nontrash-talking, unassuming, modest.

Kyrgiosa Phillipousisare not popular with the general population, they're considered poor ambassadors.

The three cricketers busted ball tampering will be a long time in purgatory.

Maybe I should have said she's Old School Australian. She's UnModernAustralian. Either way I like the cut of her jib.

When asked about her feelings and " Does it change anything?"
She replied; " No. Nothing at all."
    I like her attitude.

I watched some of her match against Venus Williams who she beat in straight sets.... she looked tiny standing next to Venus after the match...

What a thrill is must have been for Ash to even play against VW as her career winds down......

There's a lot of tall eastern european players in womans tennis, I wonder where they all are lately?....they were ruling the game ..

Ash just seemed to slip through to #1 without any real giant killing.....I'll bet she's still pinching herself....

I hope she has a good run at Wimbledon...
