What...no tear out?....
LOL no Marty, can't say I care for it
Was a cleaning and organizing day, also meant some necking lol
Which of course means I couldn't resist a preview
Gorgeous, and neck pocket tight as a Georgia fiddle player lol. See what I mean by optical illusion? You know it's a bass,I know it's a bass, but with that 10% bigger body it LOOKS like guitar. And it still doesn't have the roundovers and armrest .Kinda proud of the old girl
A simple tasteful roundover, about to start on the armrest. No big production will be much more subtle than a normal strat
Basses have been neglected some, had guitar b'ness to do.Just made my control cover
And yes,it's longer than an LP Jr so sue me lol
Got a little done on the armrest,an acoustic type armrest
Knocked the back edges off the neck
It's always good to knock the edges back. Prost!
In my ongoing effort to get bodies ready to shoot I feather the armrest into the roundovers and them into the body. Also a bit of finish sanding
A bit tough to see without the shellac primer coat but we'll get there
After some #150 on my Dewalt
View full size, you'll see why I call sycamore a poor man's lacewood
she's lookin handsome!
It looks great. How much does it weigh?
My current scale isn't closely accurate but looks to be 6 1/4 lbs. Of the 3 basses in my current rotation this is the middle weight. The Russian the light weight. The big heavy is a full scale Tele bass of cedar. I haven't posted much of it because it's a customer build so I really can't here
The picture I've been waiting for
And that's only the first coat lol
Annnd the back
How sweet it is!
Piddling with busy work
