I asked two people manning the Jimmy Wallace booth promoting next year's Dallas Guitar Show if Fender and Gibson would be back at the show, and they said yes. I really miss the big Gibson trailer and the big Fender display that were each filled with 3d guitar porn that were a large presence at each show prior to the unfortunate unmentionable unpleasantness. But still, as with the Dallas show in May, it was fun to be back at a guitar show.

Yes, thanks for sharing. I usually go to the Nashville Show but it was cancelled this year, and last, and so far isn't scheduled for 2022, either!
    No it isn't.

I used to go to the Arlington and Dallas guitar shows all the time.
    I kinda miss going.
I rarely bought much, but I liked the people watching.
    I saw a few celebrities/heroes.
Rick Derringer, Marilyn Manson (whee), Greg Martin (Kentucky Headhunters) and Eric Johnson.
I saw the Peter Green/Gary Moore/Kirk Hammet Les Paul.
It had a Do Not Touch sign on it.
I was never so tempted in my life.
I did as I was told.
    Stupid sign.;)
The crowd is full of guys like me, uh, seasoned guitar nerds and their long suffering significant others.
Just kiddin’, I saw no sufferin’.
    Maybe next year.
    Again, great pics!

I didn't think about that until you pointed it out.

Just play it loud and proud man, even if your guitars look weird.

Nice but who is going to buy all that stuff? Not the next generation. A lot of these collectors are going to get stuck holding the bag.

I noticed about 10 lefties in the whole facility, besides one guy who seemed to specialize in that variation.

They do look a bit weird . Even as a lefty , I still am a bit uneasy with the appearance of a left handed Les Paul . They just look off to me .

I’ll help them by taking those things off their hands…at a deeply discounted rate.

The black custom on the right was the only lefty I noticed...

Nah...a few people brought gear to sell, which the dealers were happy to give them pennies on the dollar for, but not much buying goes on except between dealers.

Great pics. I haven't been to a guitar show in many years. A lot of those pieces in the pictures you posted were way out of my price range but I can lust after them. Thanks for posting the pics.

Great pix...and thanks for the banjo content. That ratty Bruno would be the only instrument in the place I might be able to afford. I usually buy those for around $50, refurbish and resell for $250 (frankly, hardly worth it but fun).

I used to go to the Nashville Guitar show, same deal: shrunken space, fewer dealers, higher prices.

Great pics dannyh and thanks for posting. Almost feel like I've been around the show with you.

Over here in Brum we have, supposedly, the largest (National) Guitar show in the country, next one after a 2 year hiatus is the end of Feb. next year. However, there will be a tiny fraction of the antique/verified older models on offer.

Was all that gear just what's on offer within Texas? Or, will the same gear/dealers crop up in the next state(s) or, as a rule, is each state's show unique?
