That perception (the felon generalization, not the millionaire reality) is mistaken, and part of the problem with the 24/7 sports news cycle. More of those athletes start foundations and build houses and schools for the poor, etc than commit felonies. I could list them for days, and interestingly, the sports media really don't talk about it that much. Teams (especially owners and leagues) have politicized sports for decades, louder and clearer than anything players have been saying lately. Whether I agree with the ideas being conveyed or not, this isn't an even remotely recent phenomenon.
