are Gretsch's really plywood?

    everybody who isn't too busy yelling at the kids to get off their lawn has noticed that we are living in the golden age gear at least anyways

    As has been stated many times in this thread, this style of guitar (hollow/semi-hollow electric) has always been made with laminated tops.

    And all the Gretsch prolines are made at the Terada company in Japan, and have been since their comeback in the 90's, no secret there. The electromatics are the cheaper ones made elsewhere, like Squire, but again it's no secret.

    Heritage is a former Gibson factory that as far as I know, never made Gretsches.
