A single ply parchment pickguard from Callahamguitars would be my first choice.

Do not buy the white single ply from Stew Mac, it is refrigerator white. Awful color.

I like bright white on the creamy white.

+2 on black......have it on my MIM - to me, with the creamy toned arctic white, it sort of lends a vintage vibe similar to the orig. vintage blonde/black.

For me, it's all about the fretboard. If it's a rosewood, then I vote for a 3-ply w/b/w for a classic 60s Mike Bloomfield vibe. If it's a maple board, I'd choose something dark. Maybe not black, but perhaps tortoiseshell.

I had tortoise on my Arctic White parts-o-caster (pau ferro fretboard) when I first put it together. Now I've got anodized gold on it.

I like 'em both.

Mint for a vintage look or red tortoise for a more modern look....

Or... 1 ply bakelite pickgaurd for a different vintage (think Jimmy Bryant) look.

All white, w/b/w or brown tortoise with rosewood fretboard and all white or black with maple fretboard. It's as simple as that ;) .

I hate Arctic White guitars:mad: I bought one that's beat up and refinished in Hot Rod orange. Arctic White made a good base for a refinish.

Put a mirror pickguard like Jeff Buckley.
