I really enjoy watching detectives solve actual homicides. It's pretty interesting how they put together the cases and in the end it usually turns out the murder was over an insignificant amount of money. The cases take place in major cities, usually Tulsa, New Orleans or Atlanta. However they also have some smaller cities including my own, Rochester, NY.

    I've watched most of them.

I wish they'd be more efficient at times. Too much re hashing after the commercials, etc.

They could update some cases as a special episode?

I enjoy police procedurals, even more when they are not fictional. And they have done updates episodes.

Many police jurisdictions don't allow the filming of that or other police shows, since they only present the crime-side of the area, by their very nature. No crime? No show.

Kind of makes these cities look bad to some people.

I'd like to see them cover crimes that aren't simple street-level stuff, but you never see the rich folks who killed their spouse or whatever. Just the poor folks.

Yes, if the youngster is not in the room. My favorite show.

I learned alot from watching COPS. Like if a police car pulls up to a group of young men, the guy not wearing a shirt will make a run for it.

Murder 101--The murderers haven't figured out to turn off the cell phone or leave it at home.

I've never seen this show, but the comment about re-hashing almost triggered a rant about why that stuff happens - I don't watch many tv shows, and I may be getting older but I can still remember what I watched in last weeks episode, never mind 5 minutes ago. Even more annoying if you are binge-watching a few episodes.

The cynic in me imagines this conversation happens a lot at production meetings:
"How can we make this show even cheaper?"
"I know, let's just repeat half of it within the same episode..."

A lot of these shows, if they didn't rehash after the commercial break, the show would be about 12 minutes long.

I like the rehash. If you turn on the show halfway thru you can figure out what's happening. Especially if the show is not going to be played again.

Also since they have the 3 main cities on all the time you get familiar with the detectives. Jason White of Tulsa is one of my favorites along with Quinn from Atlanta and Rob Barrere from NOLA.

Because they are deluded enough in their criminality that they actually believe they will get away with it and are smart enough to talk around the problem/crime

ALWAYS consult a LAWYER this goes for the innocent too!

They can’t be that ignorant considering “plead the 5th” has made it into everyday use , although they actually may be stupid enough that they don’t know where it comes from...I don’t know....

Criminal Minds is a great show to watch and there's 15+ seasons. We haven't watched the First 48 yet but I'll look to see if we can get it.

On NetFlix, I like "Prime Suspect", a British police procedural drama starring Helen Mirren. Filmed in seven series (seasons, to the rest of us) from 1991-2006.
