Tried one...sent it back. I think it's a fantastic idea to do something like this, but the board just didn't work with the pedals I had at the time. They might work now, but I have already moved on and got a bone pedal board. Hard to beat Velcro for quick changing of pedals which I find myself doing often. You'll need to add a bunch of zip ties and a blade to your bag if you want to change out any pedals on the holey board.

Food for thought.

I'm not a huge pedal guy, and it's likely not going out for gigs in the near future. The main pedals I want the static mount for are the 4 button switch for my Carvin, the Reverb/Trem switch for the Supro, and my ABY box to switch between the Marshall and the Supro or the Supro and the Carvin, or two of those at once.

I have a wah, a comp and a drive pedal that will go on, and I'm thinking about a clean boost for the Supro, but not much else at this point. I don't think there'll be too much heartache with cutting a zip tie or two every now and then.

After seeing an ad in VG a few months ago i built one like the first one in the OP.
Birch plywood scraps, glue, screws and paint.
Mine is Fiesta red with black edges and a white pinstripe between the two.
The power box i bought had a 12v tap so I added blue ground effect LEDs under each deck.
Gaudy.
But i like gaudy sometimes.

I'm sorry i can't post a picture from my phone.

Would love to see pics if you have that set up currently. I would worry that the pegboards would be pretty thin and prone to breaking from being stomped on. Did you reinforce yours to keep that from happening? There are also aluminum pegboards that would be cool, but I don't think I want to cut down a 2'x4' piece of aluminum any more than I want to build a pedal board out of my existing lumber stock. Lol.

Yeah, I've almost gone the Pedaltrain route a few times. It's a nice board, but is also just kind of boring and uninspired IMHO. I had an SKB-55 for a while that had great power and routing features and was super rugged, but was just ugly as sin and huge.

This time around I was looking for something a bit more aesthetically pleasing than a lot of what is out there, without me having to break out the power tools and velcro again. Lol.

For context, I got the ebony and ivory M3 board I posted above. I think that will look nice in front of the amps in the new studio.

That looks really good , Im glad your carpet arrived , I could see potential gouges from the drum kit in the hard wood, looks really fine!

this was the board I built it took about 1 hr to build , (I let the glue dry 1 day, then painted it ) the shape of it makes it easy to access all of the pedals I need without issue.
