Might be joining the 9's club. The CVC with it's stock strings spoiled me.

Same here. I tried 8's once on a tele and alternate tunings were a problem. When I was a teen I used 12's before realizing I needed to take care of my fingers and hands. Now I won't go higher than 10's. 9's are best for me.

I've just put 0.095 strings by D'Addario on my tele. Oh yeah, like it better then 0.10s! My only complaint is the G string - they put 0.16, which is almost no difference with the 0.17 from the 0.10 set. I'd rather see a 0.15 there. Other than that it's mighty fine. Thanks for inspiration!

I have one tele set up with 8-38 just so I can pretend I'm Jerry Donahue. Like playing rubber bands.

I tried to live with the stock D'Addario 9's that came on CV BSB for a couple o'days but no, it just doesn't work for me.
10-46 or 10-52s for me thank you. I might be a good candidate for 11s really, especially after I've been playing my Resonator. 16 -56

Thanks bro.... I honestly never heard this... I always try to chord right in the middle of the two frets.... thank-you.

As far as strings go I just began playing electric guitar in October... 4 years before this I played acoustic with .13 and high action.... When I got my Tele I had .10 on it and I sounded like crap pulling chords out of tune.... I am a lot better now.

Well about 2 months ago my lil bro got me some EB super slinkys .009 and because of reading some of the anti-9 post in here I didn't wanna use them...
Well I am GLAD I DID! I love em, and I can play some of those monkey chords easier now.

9's are great. I swap a few strings around too if I'm doing a lot of steel bends, such as using a 9 on the E, a 10 on the B, and a 15 on the G, which gives the strings a nice balance for what I want.

Different guitars I tend to play differently, so not all my guitars have the same strings, but I like that mix.

Anyone who says you need huge strings to get great tone hasn't experimented.

If I don't bend, then I use bigger strings, but rarely do I use the set that comes as standard.

Well, not being a complete pansy like all of you, I string my guitars with bass strings... ;)

9-46 D'addarios are my drug of choice for everything, but I put 10-46 SITs on my Strat today and they play and feel really good. I might end up being a 9 to 10 convert...

    I use 11's.

    I can't do 9's. I can barely do 10's. 9's just make me feel like I'm playing a toy.

You people that use 8's are just plain crazy.
