I got the Caline Fuzzy Bear. I like it. I also have a Big Muff Nano, and they sound a little different so I feel like keeping the Fuzzy Bear.
It's got a little more Hendrix vibe to it compared to the Big Muff.
The Candy Floss has extra features, so you got a winner, and for the price, you can't go wrong.

I have one. I'm not very experienced with fuzz though, so I can't say too much about how it compares against other fuzz pedals. I'm using it through a super reverb, and it does sound like a fuzz face type to me, as opposed to a tone bender type or big muff type. With the amp cranked up into it's sweet spot, it seems to do what a fuzz should do and cleans up with the guitar volume knob. With the amp down low, it sounds brittle and there is some very apparent transistor gating sound in the decay. Maybe that is a trait of fuzz faces in general. I never owned a a fuzz face, so I can't say. It does have some 'bloom' effect, i.e, compresses fairly heavy with harder attack and at higher gain settings.

Placement in the effects chain is important. With this pedal straight into the amp it sounds like it has two modes when using the buffer toggle switch. With the switch in the up position it has tons of gain, and with it in the down position it seems more like the amount of fuzz that a fuzz face should have. The sound of this pedal changes pretty drastically when moved in the effects chain like this: amp <-- overdrive (off or on) <-- candy floss <-- guitar. Now with the buffer switch in the down position, it is brighter but the amount of gain seems on par as with the pedal straight into the amp. And with the buffer switch up, the gain stays about the same as with the switch down, but it sounds warmer than with the switch down.

There is a third knob on this pedal which I haven't figured out the function of. Something definitely changes slightly in the sound as it is being moved, but when left in place at any position, I don't hear any difference no matter where the pedal is placed and how it is set. I read somewhere that the knob is used for dealing with noise. I haven't heard it have any effect on noise. So I'm at a loss as to what it is actually for. Does anyone know? On the amazon page for this pedal, there is a list of the pedal's functions:

Function

1. Power Supply: DC 9V

3. Fuzz: Provide you with a range of different tones from vintage to modern super fuzz.

4. VOL Knob: Increases or decreases the overall volume.

6. LED Light: LED indicator shows the working state.

7. Output: Analogy though 1/4’’ mono audio jack.

8. Input Jack: Analogy though 1/4’’ mono audio jack.

9. True Bypass: True bypass for zero tone coloration.

But in that list, there is no information provided for '5', which is the mystery knob in question here. When searching the questions and answers on that amazon listing, this is given:

Product Information
Three knobs: Vol, Buffer, Fuzz. Traditional fuzz effect, plump and rich

But I don't hear any change to the buffer at any knob positions. As I said before, I do hear something slight happening when rolling the knob, but when left at any position, it sounds the same as before the knob was changed.

In Shane's InTheBlues review, he says that 'mystery knob' is some kind of 'gate.' Maybe that accounts for the "brittle" "transistor gating sound in the decay" that you described?

Bizarre that it's not labeled.

Are you happy with this pedal? I was about to spend $140 on a Dunlop JHF1, but in the midst of this virus thing, as a freelancer, it's stupid for me to spend real money on something i'll only use when i fiddle with Voodoo Chile every once in a while. Shane's video makes it sound really good—as good or better than most Dunlop pedal videos. And he doesn't even have the Fuzz turned all the way up, as i thought was the standard with silicon fuzzies. I'm going to have to order this from Amazon, just to give it a shot. <$30 and free returns?

With this pedal in the right place in the chain it sounds like a classic fuzzface to me. As I said above, I'm not not very experienced with fuzzes so when I posted about it here I didn't know about the impedance thing with fuzzes. But I think it sounds fine, and it seems to be a good option for a bargain price. If I bought a bunch of fuzzes and compared it to some germanium ones maybe I would change my mind on it. But ignorance is bliss. :) I like the Leon Drive and 10-band eq too. I tried some Caline digital pedals and they had issues so I sent them back. So with my personal experience so far, Caline analog pedals seem worthwhile for not too much money.

Checking out the mystery knob on this pedal again, I hear it doing nothing except while it is being moved, there is a little static. No change in noise, tone, clipping, gating, nothing. I also ran onto this:

The unmarked "Cut knob" is an interesting addition. Turned all the way clockwise it seems to function like a standard fuzz pedal with plenty of sustain with the rough edges intact. However turning the dial counter-clockwise seems to change the threshold where the signal cuts. This is great for crisp individual notes which are immediately palm muted as not to ring out. Gives the player more opportunity to tweak to taste.

I don't hear it doing anything like that. I hear it doing nothing. Maybe mine is missing some parts that other ones have.

In the 20 minutes since i posted here, i've put the thing into my Amazon cart, then been back and forth on whether to buy it or just spend the money on a Dunlop Mini, or whether to just say Screw it and just play Voodoo Chile with gain and no fuzz.... I'm like Vinnie Barbarino right now: "I'm SOOOO CONFUUUUUUSED."

Smart thing, i guess, would just to be to buy the Caline from Amazon. Try it in my setup. Hope for a happy surprise. If it works, i'm done. If not, return it and then spend. But, my TGP-indoctrinated heart says, Buy the 'real thing' so you don't have doubts. And i am 70% water and 20% doubts....

EDIT: Never mind. An hour later, I found a FFM2 Dunlop Germanium Mini Fuzz Face for a fantastic price, so i'm good. For now....
