Yup. 1988 American Standard sunburst, maple fretboard bought new in '89 in Denmark Street. I washed dishes for 2 weeks to top up the savings I had to buy it.

It's been modded with OV pickups, tortoise shell pickguard and got a refret. Other than that and a few string changes, it's bone stock. :D

Yes - an '85 MIJ 62. I got it early 90s. It's really beautifully made. Feels vintage now. Stock except for Seymour Duncan Jerry Donahue pickups in there and CTS pots.

It's had a lot of different scratchplates for different looks. Here are a couple.

No. Bought new (£278) in 1981 in Unisound, Kilburn High Rd and traded in for a bass amp in Harlow in the late '90s. Wish I hadn't, although it was heavy, about a 5 piece body and coated in really thick finish.

The shop was Boogie, which was replaced by some other one a long time ago. And now, there are fewer and fewer guitar shops in Denmark Street, as they are being steadily replaced by luxury flats.

I don't know; unfortunately I can't remember which of my Teles was my first. It was either the one in my avatar, in which case yes, I still own it, or it was my paisley which I stupidly sold.

First and only, a 1973 bought in 1991 or 1992. Also the first (non-bass) guitar I ever owned.

'96 MIM Standard. Toploader, black with white pickguard. Maple neck, 7.25" radius and vintage frets. Don't have a picture to hand. Bought it in '97 as a 30th birthday present to myself (from Peter Cook's Guitar World if that means anything to anyone) - decided it was time to learn to play guitar.
My first guitar, and it had to be a Tele. Still have it and despite a whole raft of ideas for upgrading it, it's still stock. Will not sell!

    I do, a 78, bought in 1981ish.
Heavy, wrong body shape, wrong pickups, wrong bridge, wrong jack. Poly not nitro...
    I love it.

I remember the ads for Peter Cook's in the back of Melody Maker. Hanwell I think.

    Me.

1976 Standard Tele that I bought used in 1977.

I put Joe Bardens' in it around 1990.

It's been through a lot of gig's in smokey bars.

    And, it's been semi-retired since 2003.

Now, I only use it for special gig's.

Yes. Bought it new in '99. It's my main guitar. I still play it everyday.

No. I've owned 2 Fender Teles over the years and have sold them both.

The only "Tele" I currently have is one I built from scratch.
