Just reading one of his biographies, "Last Train to Memphis" and the descriptions of the audiences when he was starting out made me wish I was there. So, being the curious one, have any of you seen Elvis perform live?

No, but Jerry Glanville left tickets at the will call office for Elvis at every Houston Oiler home game;)
Wished I would have had the pleasure of seeing the King!!

Best bio ever IMO. Certainly best Elvis one.
Having not seen Elvis is one of my life's regrets. But I was only 11 when he passed.

I saw him in a white leather suit jump a Sportster over a bunch of London busses.

    Yep. Several times a year.

He and Amelia Earhart are married and currently run the Tastee Freeze in Pikeville, KY.

I saw him not to long before he past. He performed in Tulsa Oklahoma on the campus of Oral Roberts University and it was when he was pretty large and sweaty. I can remember him passing his neckerChiefs to the swooning girls near the stage. My older brother saw him a few years earlier at a venue at the Tulsa Fairgrounds where they got about six guys in by a ticket attendee opening a window and let the others in who climbed a ladder to access the show.

Another time my brother and I were attending a Streetrod Nationals in Memphis and we were camped out across the street from Graceland. The Memphis Football team was playing the Oklahoma Outlaws in Memphis and we watched as Elvis and his ontarage returned from the game and drove in past the gates of Graceland. I visited Memphis about eight years ago and took the Graceland Tour and I really enjoyed reliving some of these moments. I understand there is a new Hotel built next door to Graceland now.

    The guy could sing.

The King died in 1977, and I was 22, so I was old enough to go to a concert. But, I was married at the time, and, quite frankly, if you were an Elvis fan in ‘77, you were considered L7. That means square.

In retrospect, I should have had the wherewithal to go see such an icon of American music. I was a big fan in the ‘60s, just like most everyone else. I don’t think PA was a hot tour spot for him at that point.

In Baltimore 1971 at what was then called the Baltimore Civic Center. The sound was good and Elvis was good but I watched James Burton with my 60x20 binoculars.
