Does the body, pickups, and parts I've got accumulated.....as well as the neck I'm waiting on from Warmoth count? I mean, after all, I'm not buying A GUITAR.....just a bunch of stuff that, hopefully, will fall together in some "guitar-like" manifestation....

This a more serious form of the disorder, since the individual parts are useless until formed into a complete guitar. You may even cherish some precious parts.

You could always argue that the increase in the investment on the guitar would be greater than the return on some stock mutual funds.
