Peter Mayer, Jimmy Buffett's guitarist, has played my Carvin a few times.[IMG] 1936174_101168153228343_403312_n.jpg

Here's one time at the Hog's Breath in Key West.

I used to own a ‘97 Guild Starfire that was owned and autographed by the former guitarist of Third Eye Blind.

Sold it, which was a mistake. That was a great guitar.

You have a guitar played by Tom Petty? You already won the thread. :)

Apparently my '02 '52 AVRI was often played by Bill Kirchen at the Falls Church GC. I was told that he preferred it over the CS Nocaster they had hanging on the wall. I know I did. It's an exceptional AVRI Tele, except maybe for the thick finish it came with.

No instruments, but back in 2013 the family and I got to see ZZ Top as guests of the band/crew thanks to a mutual friend with Billy Gibbons. We got to watch the show side stage, got to do the customary meet 'n' greet with the band after the show, but the awesome part was that we got to hang with the band and the techs for about five minutes before the show, after security had kicked everyone else out of the backstage area. The band signed a couple Squier strats that we auctioned to benefit the local children's hospital, both Billy and Dusty each gave me a handful of picks, and Billy's tech gave me one of Billy's glass bottle slides (I am still trying to milk all the mojo I can out of it). I also got to hold Billy's purple Bolin T-style guitar before the show. It really was almost as light as an acoustic. It was an experience we will never forget.

Not me, but a friend has an old Fender Bassman cabinet that was used at the Monterey Pop Festival in '67.

I bought a tele from J.P. Bowersock of The Strokes fame, who used it on one of their tours. Got it via Reverb. It had a few strips of Gaff tape with writing, including a big "Casablancas" one. I also sold an amp once to Michael Britt via craigslist.

I'm a fan of Ok Go. They did this as a Super Bowl commercial for Chevy several years ago.

When I saw it, my first thought was "what are they going to do with all those guitars?" (at the 2:30 mark). Well they sold some of them off for charity. I've got one hanging on my wall. Its still has its coating of dust from the shoot.

Wow, that guy is a great player, very underrated imo. That les Paul he has carved up is a really cool looking guitar. Kinda like Page's dragon tele, but for keeps :D

He is probably my older brother's favorite current player (significant to me cause my older bro got me into guitar).

I have an Ernie Ball Earthwood Bass super-rare "Factory Prototype" that the guy who sold it to me in 1984 said had been owned by Michael Hedges. No way to know now, sadly.

I also have some used guitar strings that I bought because the guy said they'd been owned by 'lil Wayne and they were the strings that he learned on last week but now that he's hit the big time he can afford them gold plated ones.

I'm a lefty. I own a Guild F44 acoustic that belonged to Eliot Easton. Got it at Matt Umanov's back in '92.

I once caught one of Max Weinberg's drumsticks. It flew out of his hand while he was playing. I gave to my little bro. He lost it.
