Anyone know where I can get sheet music for "Ha Ha Hotel" by Mike Stern?

I would like to do this tune with my band, but it could take me forever to transcribe the melody:

I'm bumping this thread in hopes of getting a response. Or can someone suggest another site or discussion board where I might be able to get the answer to my question?

It's not really the sort of song you'd transcribe - if I was doing this I'd work out the structure and main hooks then just jam it. Which I strongly suspect is what they are doing here.

I think if you can't do that, this is probably not a song to tackle just yet.

I'm just looking for the head. The main hooks, etc. are simple. But the head is a highly chromatic be-boppish affair that goes by at high speed. I could sit by the computer for hours, stopping and starting it to catch all those notes, but I was hoping that there was a shortcut. There are charts for tunes by Oz Noy, for example, available on Dave Weckl's website. So I'm looking for something like that.

I guess what I'm saying is that I doubt there's a full transcription out there - might come down to a few hours with audacity and a lot of patience! I'm crazy enough to enjoy doing that! Might be the only answer here.

I think you're going to have to just transcribe it yourself. Get one of those programs that slows the song down and get to it.

I've found this in scribd, looks pretty good - I haven't played it yet

I bought the official music sheet from the Mike Stern website but it turns out that it is only the rhythm section, no melody.

Lions & Tigers oh Mi !
.

You might try your own transcription:

AI: AnthemScore, ScoreCloud, or Melodyne

Software: Guitar Pro or MuseScore

UbuntuStudio.org has a few audio to sheet music transcription software packages in it that might work for what you need.

Yeah, if he hasn't figured it out in 13 years it might be time to move on.
