I've got a soft spot for first act guitars. I know they're far from the best. But they're often oddly shaped or designed, and I just like the variation. A while ago I picked up a cream colored garage master. But I recently got my hands on another red one.

What's unique about it is this extra emblem on it.

I saw a red one like the one I managed to find on an auction site once before, but was out bid. When you look up the Garage Master most do not have this emblem on them.

Does anyone know why some have them, and others don't?

    Pardon my messy room.

I've got one, without that extra emblem.

    It's sorta quirkily fun

Those came with a new Volkswagen car one year. 2004 maybe?

I think it was 06. The emblem that's on one of mine isn't on most of them. And that's the thing that's got me curious. Haha.

That emblem came with the case candy. I think a lot of people stuck them on their new VW's or whatever, which is why you don't see them much. I have one. Actually I have about 25 First Acts ranging from the US Custom Shop models to the lowley Walmart jobs. Cool guitars.

I've owned two of them. The first was quite playable and a pretty good guitar. The second wasn't good enough for the fire place.

So funny story everyone. Turns out, this guitar I got my hands on is the SAME guitar I lost the bid to on an auction site. Which explains why I saw the logo on the same place on a Garage Master with red pickguards.

    Absolutely mad.

I have a white/black one. It's a pretty well built guitar and actually plays well. Nice sounding pickups too. They have an onboard 9v EG with gain and treble boost.

Pretty Volkswageny. I hear that the number on the back on the headstock is the vin Number of the car they came with.

A few years back when Volkswagen cheated big time on their emissions data,

This guitar was brought forth kinda as a 'piece pipe,' to the proletariat.
Dance lessons also came with the package.

The guitar cars predated the fallout of the scandal by some years. They are not linked.
