I was reading one of the other threads and read Brewwagon's comment - and although I had heard of the Nashville tuning before I had never tried it. http://www.tdpri.com/forum/telecaster-discussion-forum/160991-does-anyone-play-8s.html#post1820377 Today I strung up my Thinline like Brewwagon said and at first I hated it, after just 10 minutes I was thinking to put normal strings back on.... But then I started playing fingerpicking along with a CD with some fast hillbilly songs - wow ! On its own the tuning doesnt really work but in the mix with other instruments it is amazing; Like there is an extra banjo or 12 string or so. And then I started playing along with some western swing doing all 7 chords - like you are adding a steel to the sound This is great fun !! Everyone into country should try this out.
