Full disclosure: I went to high school with the maker and found him to be a self-absorbed arrogant jerk.

To me this bridge looks like it has no place on a tele but is certainly well made as is all his hardware. Does it twang? I don’t know and would never give him my money to find out.

I tried an aluminum bridge before and it didn’t sound good. Made the guitar sound pretty open and thin and didn’t really twang like steel or stainless steel. Maybe that’s what you want? If so give it a try and report back. The thick back of this bridge may help with the tone.

I agree. I just put this one on my mim as I was tired of the 6 saddle "strat" bridge.View attachment 630216

I concur as well. I just tried my first Callaham on another tele recently. Noticeable difference from my Wilkinson that was on there. Normally it's out of my budget, but someone was selling the Callaham on eBay and thought it was something else...I got it for about a tenth of new. None of the other bidders realized what it was either. Definitely woke up a dead-sounding guitar.

I'm thinking of trying one of those Advanced Plating bridges (cold-rolled steel) that roknfnrol uses on some of his teles. They sell them at Philadelphia Luthier Tools. Probably going to go with the .048" for more twang...may try steel saddles too. Never done that before. It's a little more expensive than standard also, but still half the price of a new Glendale or Callaham. Will report findings back here when I finally get it together in a few months. I'm in the midst of a refin right now.

Are they Rickey approved?
I just got a fender pat pend knockoff on ebay with brass saddles for $17 bucks.
Others ive used are the Wilkinson and a authentic fender with Wilkinson saddles, classic vibe 50s with brass saddles, no name $8 buck china bridge with brass saddles. I don't notice much difference if any between them all but without fitting them all to the same guitar to compare it's hard to know if there is a difference or not.

It looks good.....and if someone (legitimately) said it's a huge improvement over my Wilkinson three compensated saddle model, I might give it a try, but otherwise, I'm not interested. While I've never owned one, I can't see paying for a Callaham or Rutters bridge, either. To me, it's one of those, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" situations.

Well if you like what you have then for sure don’t mess with it. I had a Wilkinson chopped on a homemade HH tele and it was pretty sweet. If I do another tele build I’ll go with the Callaham, though, that one made me feel complete.

Oh I don't plan to mess with THAT tele. The Callaham is staying, believe me. No...I'm shopping for another tele.

I'm keeping the Callaham too. Actually I caught the GAS for a vintera series 60's modified and realized I already had a Mexican LPB that I had put custom shop texas specials and the 4 way switch mod some time back. I never did care for the bridge so instead of buying another guitar I bought a bridge. It's a frigging rock machine!

Did you buy another Callaham or something else?
