Hello everyone. Looking to do some different pickup configurations on a well broken in Highway1 Tele. My buddy offered to make a routing template. I'm looking for a smuggler's route dxf file to modify for different configurations. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!

You could make one pretty easy from a good head on picture like this. Screenshot_2020-11-09-07-28-29-1.png i should have done this to my Baja, that thing thought it was a '70s Les Paul.

I've done some crude routes on others, but with all the modding I do, I figured it would be a whole lot faster and easier. If all else fails we will go off a tracing of an old pickguard and come in about 1/2 inch all around.

If the picture in the Duchossoir book is any indication, you could come up with a more elegant routing pattern by yourself. ;)

Hah! Nothing is as crude as me manually moving a filtertron route to get it done.

Does anyone know what the point is of leaving the wood around the pickup, and the two bits going toward the bridge pickup? Structural integrity?

Not exactly what you’re looking for but here’s a picture of a Tele/Strat hybrid based off of a Strat swimming pool route. You can find plenty of pictures around of the large amounts of wood removed for a swimming pool route in a Strat.
