Curious if anyone around here gigs with a Katana? 50 or 100?

if you are, are you using the onboard effects or are you using your own pedals?

There’s a few videos of guys gigging with katanas on YouTube. I think a lot of guys will use the onboard effects.
Personally I haven’t had a chance to gig with mine yet but I use it as a pedal platform right now. I do like the crunchy drive it has though

I used to gig with a twin or a ‘59 bassman reissue. I also did a couple gigs with a hughes and kettner tubemeister 18 and a few with a pro reverb later on when I started to downsize my rig

I gig my 50 with my pedalboard. The internal effects sound great, but are very inconvenient for live use.

My bandmate uses a Kat 50 and dials up his tones on the spot. He's updated firmware to latest.

It sounds OK, he plays strictly rhythm. Plenty of volume unmicced for drums in small-medium venues. I'm not selling my tube amp anytime soon, but he walks in with guitar/cable/amp and he's got a bad back.

I was subjected to one at a gig. :(

Nasty, ear splitting, atonal noises when really cranked which was unexpected. Pushed the SS power stage too much I think. Was a 50w model i think.

The Yamaha SS amp heads look nice if I was going SS.

My Katana 100W 1-12 sounds great!
I just use the internal effects.
I use no pedals of any kind.
    The Katana is my spare.
If it had a closed back, tuner and looper, I’d use it as much as my Cube 80XL, but it don’t.
I’ve used it on about 6 gigs in the 2 years I’ve owned it.
