Just started working on it... it is slow going for me but I'm starting to figure it out

Any help would be greatly appreciated... for instance on those 2 "Mama Tried"-esque bends in the beginning, that second bend sounds like 2 notes, is it? I've been working at it but can't figure out those bends yet...

After those 2 bends I believe he goes

------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
--4h5--4---3---2------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------

Right after that, I've been playing the next lick like this (not 100% positive on this one though)

-------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------
------------------0------2---4---2---------------------
-0--2--4--0--2------4---------------4---2---5---------
---------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------

Those first few bends?

pbr= pre-bend release

---------------------------------------------------
--pbr-(12)-10------------pbr-(5)--3--------------
------------------10-----------(5)--3---------------
-----------------------------------------3-----------
---------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------

??? i.e. pre-bend at the 10th fret, (bending it a whole step)

Does that look right?

After those bends come the licks I posted above

So anyways, after that section, (played twice), comes this lick:

-----------------------------------------------------
-----2---4---5---7--4------------------5-------------
-4------------------------4---2------------------------
------------------------------------6------------------
----------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------

which, I 'spose, could be played like this:

-------------0--2---------------------------------------
------2--4---------4-----------------5-------------------
--4---------------------4---2--------------------------
----------------------------------6-------------------
-----------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------

and, with that, back to the woodshed for me, the land of kinda sorta half figured out licks ;) .... If anyone has anymore of the licks to this song figured out, OR has corrections to the tabs I've posted, PLEASE DO post them. If you correct my tabs, it's not gonna hurt my feelings or whatever, I just want to learn the song!

I'll post more after I figure 'em out...

I really love this song, I think it is particularily brilliant

Anyone?

Even a "looks like you are on the right track" or "that doesn't look right" would be helpful...

After this lick:

---------------------------------------------
-----2---4---5---7--4------------------5------
-4------------------------4---2------------
------------------------------------6--------
-------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------

comes this lick:

-(3)-sl-5--3-------------3---------------
----------------b-3-(5)-----rb-(5)-3--1-
----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------

followed by a series of doubestops/chords that I haven't figured out yet

Well AJ PMed me about this tab, so I hope you don't mind me responding. I never get over to this part of the forum.

AJ, I interpret the run in D (like quoted above) like this:
(image removed)

That lick is played several times, and this is the one with the augmented arpeggio. I think a couple time in the beginning he plays it diatonic.

Here is my interpretation of the Mama Tried bends. On the two note part you were talking about, keep your pinky on fret 6 2nd string. Let me know if this helps.

I learned it all except for a couple of notes that didn't work last year.
If you need help with a something just ask. I didn't tab the whole thing out, but I wouldn't mind doing small parts if you want.

If you play this chord I think its a bit easier to play this way:

---
-7-
-7-
-8-
-9-
-10-

-----------------------------
--------------------7---------
------------7-------7---7-------
-------8---8---8--------8-------
---9---9-------9---------------
--10---------------------------

I was thinking it was like the end to "Stealing Corn" (like on my video) which is a descending maj9th arpeggio. Maybe I'm wrong, or maybe Redd played it different. I'll throw out the variation just for fun. See what you think. I bolded the changes.
