Made a long drive this past weekend and listened to several hours of L&M. Man what a band. Brought back lots of memories.

    Yes!
    I loved em’.
Jim Messina is a ridiculously underrated guitarist and songwriter.
    Kenny was his perfect foil.
    I loved Messina-era Poco, too.
I’ve seen many interviews with JM, and his intelligence and grace is inspiring.
They did a reunion tour years ago, and they “weren’t missing a step”.
The first two L&M records were stellar, the rest, merely great!
I had the great pleasure of doing a recording session for a friend at L&M drummer Merel Brigante’s studio here a few years ago.
It went predictably well, he too sang “Jimmy’s” praises.

Me too. “Angry Eyes” is a particularly good-sounding recording to my ear. I don’t usually gravitate toward flute solos, but that one, in that context, wad brilliant.

My dad played that stuff so much that I hated it. The mid 70s albums. The ones that went out of print and weren't even available until recently.

Add this to the list of albums from the same period that I heard way too much. But, this is actually one I appreciate now.
