He's good guitarist. It's a shame he had to resort to his "act" to make a living.
+1 for UH!
That's kind of a kick in the gut, ain't it? I believe Danny could do just about anything he wanted in life...(and has!).
If he didn't do his "act" then who would? He's a genius and no one else could be Unknown Hinson...
The Kang, baybuh.
Isn't he the guy who plays Hendrix on a Rickenbacker and talks about getting to so much trouble with "wimernz"? Too much!
Wormerns likes that.
Sorry don't know him.
You've obviously never experienced the man live.
That "act" is a masterpiece performance, and not some schtick that he threw together.
When is puts on those sideburns, he isn't Danny Baker AS Unknown Hinson, he simply IS Unknown Hinson.
He has to be seen to be believed and like I said, you've obviously never seen him.
When you listen to his CDs or see him on YouTube it does not do him justice. His live shows are awesome. My son plays in a band with me and I play Unknown Hinson during our breaks and my son never really got it until I took him to a live show. Now he is a #1 fan like me. When he heard him break out on some Voodoo Child that was all it took! I get the act and all its silliness but behind all that is a great guitar player. He used to play Ricks and Teles, but now plays his Reverend Unknown Hinson model with those great Reverend P90s. It is basically a cut down Reverend Club King with a Gibson scale length. I love Reverends P90s. I have a USA Reverend Jet Stream with 3 p90s and it is my favorite guitar after my Telecasters. I would buy one of those UH Reverends but I don't like that short scale length.
Yes, and that someone is me.
He wears many hats well. Great guitarist, great charisma onstage, and the whole thing is a comedy routine at the same time.
Would love to see him tour Down Here.
But maybe that 25 years he did in prison might get him knocked back for a visa...
Big fan here!
Ah, that was 30 years, for three counts of murder, 19 paternity suits, vampirism and random grave-robbing offenses.
Saw him in Orlando with the wife. Awesome show. Awesome player. Very personable when he signed stuff for us. Wish I could afford his Reverend.
You'd think that people could forgive and forget, wouldn't you? But you don't know our Immigration Dept. Any excuse, etc...
Well NOW he's not unknown any more. Talented, hilarious, and did I say talented? Oh yeah I did, twice.
Sorry I'm a dummy I posted in the wrong section! It does clearly say post about music here. I missed that when I started this! Love this forum so I really am sorry.
