I used to only like the traditional T but lately I'm really liking the idea of having a trem system on my next tele. This is the vid that piqued my interest:

Seen a few more by Tuttle and Anderson now that were very cool as well. Anyone here already rocking this set up?

I love Bigsbys on Teles. I suppose I’d like Strat style trems on Teles too, but it just seems wrong to me, haha.

Really I just do prefer a good Bigsby. I like the subtlety of its response.

Yep, Bigsby B16 and B5s on Teles for sure. I'm not fond of the Strat style but sure, why not? I rather make one with a offset Floating Trem.

Despite what Leo called that system on a Strat, it is a Vibrato. The tremolo is in those BF amps behind the player, and I don’t hear that going on. Vibrato is pitch modulati9n wile tremolo is volume modulation.
I have a pet theory that Leo Fender could not/would not call that Strat whammy a Vibrato because Paul Bigsby had earlier and properly named his system as such and Gibson was using the Bigsby. For the same reason, Leo could not call the tremolo circuits in his amps tremolo because Gibson among others had beat him to the punch in having them in their amps and properly calling them tremolo.
As for vibrato, if you need it you have to have it. If you don’t use it, don’t buy a guitar with one on it.

To me that would be like putting fork extensions and a sissy bar on a sport bike.

I have a mutt of a vintage '69 with Factory "F" Bigsby (no string through holes).

If I were to "trem" a Tele it would be a Bigsby for sure.

No. That's why you buy a Strat.

I love the Bigsby B5 on my Esquire, but generally the fixed bridge is part of the attraction of a Tele, for me.

    Go nuts, though ;)

I daydream about getting a Bigsby on a tele. Not a strat trem, for multiple reasons.

Geez man, if you understand what somebody is talking about, just let it rest. You're not going to undo Leo's Great Vibrato Misnaming Error with a few tdpri posts.

I don’t need guidance on what I post. If I waste my time, that is my choice. If you waste yours, that is your choice.

Coincidentally, I was looking at Fender Telecaster Plus Deluxes today. An interesting USA Tele variation from the 90s with Lace Sensor pickups and an American Standard Stratocaster vibrato.

I would definitely like to try one and would like to try the Friedman in the video. Peach guitars is not too far from me. However, I was rather underwhelmed by the Friedman 'Teles' I have tried so won't expect too much!

I like a bigsby on a Tele. But I’d love to see a strat whammy on a Tele.

iTs Not A tReM!!1 Now that I've corrected you by telling you something you and everyone else knows yet doesn't answer your question the whole internet knows how smart I am...or whatever.

But yeah, everyone knows what you mean. And everyone knew what Leo meant. I've never used one on a Tele, but they look awesome with a Bigsby in my opinion.

Two of my four Teles have Bigsbys. They are great, but I have modified mine for tuning stability. Much better than my Strat.
