never been disappointed with any Wilky stuff.
However, I have seen some real cheap low-end Wilkinson Strat pup sets on eBay - probably pulls from goodness knows what - as they seem to be a step down from the regular branded standalone Wilkinson sets, and so maybe I'd steer clear of (just) those examples.

The only Wilkinson pickups I have seen for Teles have ceramic magnets. I've heard their PAF style humbuckers are pretty nice though for the pricepoint.

I have WVT pups in my tele, and I like them. Dirt cheap on ebay. I love the low end in the neck (WVTN). The bridge (WVTB) gives me the twang I need without icepickyness. YMMV.

I also have Wilk pups in my Peavey Destiny HSS shredder, and they're not bad either IMO.

The only "problem" is that the Wilkinson logo easily wears off. If you wanna call that a problem. (BTW, I think they're Wilk licenced pickups, probably mass produced in China or something.)

I recently installed some Wilkinson PAF style humbuckers on a friend's custom guitar build. They sounded surprisingly great coming out of my 69 DR.

I have a tele set in a Westone tele copy. Love' em.
The same can be said about their PAF copy set, which I have in a Westone ES-335 copy.

Both sets came as stock on both guitars. I have a tele and a strat copy with EMG's and various dual hummer guitars with EMG's and SD JD, but never felt the need to replace the Wilkinson pickups.

I bought a cheap set for a Strat, and they were pretty cheap in quality- one pickup was open circuit and I had to carefully melt the wax and unwind the wire about one turn and then resolder- very fiddly. I think Wilkinson must just find a cheap manufacturer in Asia and buy a container of pickups off them and then re-brand.

... and the mini-humbuckers sound really good (Iv'e "tested" the neck one !... on an Ibanez gart60). For the guys on TDPRI : "I have more to say here, and not scepticism" ;)

Another thumbs up for the Wilky 'buckers. Full, warm, creamy and articulate. Everything a 'bucker should be.

When I assembled my latest Parts Strat , I didnt want to shell out for fancy pu´s right away. I ordered a complete pg with wilkinsons from Axesareus in the uk , and they are fine. They are not the ultra cheap ones with ceramic magnets , sometimes they are called the same , so beware. I only counted on them being in there for a short while , but for now , they are staying in there.....
