I have never had any work done on by Ibanez AFJ95 but feel that it could use new strings and a good setup by somebody that knows their stuff. I am fairly comfortable doing my own work normally but know little to nothing about floating bridges. I saw an older thread about techs in Austin but it is from 2012 so I would like an update.

Seriously, that's gotta be like a "does anybody like beer" question... maybe it's tough to find one in Nashville too?

If I ever get done paying for people to go to college, Dan is going to get some of my money. I hope he doesn't have any plans to retire in the next year or so. The only question left for me is black, white, or candy apple red.

Dan? Nah. You want Bill. He's great and his work is impeccable. He's downtown in the parking lot next to the Sonic. His van's green. You can't miss him. Tell him Bob sent you. He might knock a couple bucks off the price.

Yeah, Mark. Not paying attention after a few beers on a Friday night. It happens.

Well, Dan, Mark, whatever the proprietor of Erlewine Guitars is named, if he doesn't retire before the college bills stop rolling in, he's getting some of my money. If his work was good enough for Johnny Winter, it's good enough for me.

Mark Erkwine is a bit more expensive than some, but I had him do a set-up while some warranty work was being done by him on an Epi Les Paul. Thing has played like butter since. He also turned me on to the Epi 339's. Told me he thought it was one of the better guitars they make. He was not wrong.

Haven't gone to him in 25+ years. One of his employees/apprentices did an absolute hack-job on installing/cutting slots in new saddles on a tune-o-matic bridge of mine. Granted, it wasn't his work, but I still never went back. Pretty nice guy, though; and I think he works alone now. Not sure I'd pay extra just because he and his cousin share a name, though.
