Some locals are cashing checks from Hyundai...

Gotta admit, I love Rachel Dratch in almost anything she does...

Uh...it was just a spoof on the Boston accent/manner of speech.

But I will remember to add that to my pissing contest list – parking.:mad:

Sorey - What is that word “lad” ?

Let it be known that I once sat at a bonfire with Chris Evans after a wedding and was wicked nice.

    Lad = British slang...

I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone say that around Boston. "Kid" for sure like Mark Wahlberg would say, not Lad.

These ads/movies are always funny but the # of people who talk with an accent that exaggerated is vanishingly small these days, and you really need to be in the exact right neighborhoods to hear it.

The stuff on TV is like the worst of all the local neighborhood accents combined. There are some interesting videos by Boston actors explaining some of this in more detail.

The one thing I really remember is "wicked" was very common at one point. I said it constantly when I was a teenager. I went to college outside of Massachusetts and everyone gave me a hard time about it.. I don't really think I ever say it much anymore but that's the kind of thing you can say and not realize it if you're in the area.

"Wicked Pissah" was always much more rare and over the top... say that in a lot of places around Boston today and people will raise an eyebrow.

Rachel went a little overboard with pahhhk. I still catch myself saying wicked once in a while. Old habits and all...

Chris E lives in Concord, my daughter sees him around town. Nothing against those guys, but this vid is more real, and way funnier:

    That’s the one !

Casey should have had Ben’s role in Good Will Hunting but he was still great.

(In Michigan we call a hooded Carhartt , especially if it’s faded with deck stain on the sleeves, “the Michigan passport”. Gets you into any outstate bar, tavern, or dive with no problems. I keep mine in the front hall closet for when I need it…)

Yah Casey Affleck gets it better than most. That Dunkin skit is hilarious.

He was probably too young to be in Good Will Hunting.

Beautifully telling detail of the day! Thanks for that! Brings back lots of memories from the growing-up-in Buffalo days.

Add chicken wings' hot sauce stains, boots freckling whiteward from chronic road salt, and a rusty smudge here and there, and the region's and era's uniform is complete.

I wore mine yesterday! It must be at least 25 years old, still looks ready for action. It's the Maine tuxedo!

What's missing is the fat guy, wearing shorts in winter, while drinking a super-giant Dunkin iced coffee.
