I like twins, but they're not for everybody. This is also why I have several amps that do different things: the twin great at creating a variety of mostly clean tones. They are quite loud, but you pretty much need pedals to get much crunch, especially at lower volumes. It shouldn't sound sterile though... the cleans should be nice and chimey, often described as bell-like tones. If that's not what you're hearing, something is amiss... +1 to whoever mentioned the speakers potentially not being the right fit. Anyway, just because twins are popular with a lot of players, don't break your head trying to make it sound like something it's not.
