On Saturday night I noticed that my throat was very dry and scratchy.
Sunday morning I awoke to respiratory problems.
Since then this stuff has really been kicking my.....well you know.
This cough is out of the very bottom of my lungs.
The funny thing is that this year I let them give me a flu shot. I haven't had one for years and have never gotten sick. Dne little mistake, and BLAM, it's an atomic attack on my breathing.

Never got a flu shot, never got the flu. And I work in the germ factory petri dish that is the New England high school.

Not sure if its the flu but I definitely got some kind of allergy/cold thing kicking my ass.. I never take flu shots though, they seem kinda like a joke imo (at best a good guess at the strains going around in the coming months, at worst leave you sick or permanently disabled)

You probably don't have the flu since you got the shot.

It is a widely held myth that you can get the flu from a flu shot - NOT TRUE. It is a dead virus. See the CDC link below for the facts.

    http://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/qa/flushot.htm

I constantly go through hoops to get the young people at my office to get a flu shot. It spreads like wildfire and is a major cause in work stoppage because they infect people before they actually get sick enough to leave.

Stay home and I hope you feel better. Get a shot next year.

True, no one gets sick from the vaccine, it's a synthesized protein shell of the virus without the DNA/RNA of the virus itself. We offer it to all patients, many turn it down and many return later wondering why they got sick. WTF.

Yep, I know a couple people that got it recently. Both had to go to the doctor for antibiotics to get rid of it.

I'm asthmatic, so I have to get one. I have never had the flu, but right now, my allergies are bothering me. I'm allergic to mold, and every year around now, I wheeze and sneeze.

I'm getting whomped by bronchitis right now also. I don't get sick often, this is the worst I have felt in many years. My doctor told me a WHOLE LOT of bad stuff is going around this year.

    Just got over it.
Like you, it hit deep in the lungs first.
Bad symptoms lasted only two or three days.

Daughter had it at the same time.

I had a fever and sweats and chills and stuff for the first time in two years. I called my oncologyst and he said to get a flu shot as soon as I felt better. Last year I took an antihistimine and a Tylenol and didn't get sick. I did the same this year before I got the shot. I waited a week and got the shot. With in six hours I had chills, fever, aches and sweats that lasted two days. Maybe it's a dead virus, but twice I got "flu-like symtoms" after getting a flu shot. I'm doing better now, but still not right.

I missed a week of work in October with some kind of intestinal thing. Man, that was rough.

I get the flu shot every year, but realize it's formulated for certain strains of the virus. You can still get the flu from other strains although you might not get as sick.

yeah...I concur with the above poster, bronchitis, not the flu....usually the flu includes nasty fever...

severe bronchitis is all around right now.
