That's at least 3 vintage reds I know of; Fiesta, Dakota, Candy Apple (I have one in candy) ...I was confused about the fiesta & dakota,,,, I know I can see them on the internet, but that's rarely a good indication

Is Dakota red the "reddest" of red, like in Ferrari red?

Does fender has a color like the Gibson wine red? would that be burgundy mist?

THANKS

I am not a fan of any of the fender red colors, but then the blues and bright yellow are less interesting.
Who does the marketing surveys?
What's wrong with, black, white and mary kay?

Another note:

Red pigment, especially in lacquers, fade very quickly. This isn't a deal breaker for lacquer on a car, as the oxidized/faded paint can be buffed off, restoring the hue and luster.

On a guitar, this isn't the case. I'm not sure why. Guitars stay shiny, but the red still dies out.

For Fiesta red, this means a more orange-based color, depending on if it was applied over white primer, versus over yellow-dyed wood. Faded fiesta red over white would look like what Reranch calls Fiesta red. Or, what Campbell's calls tomato soup.* Dakota Red, if applied over white would look like a less orange Fiesta.

Far as I can tell, Candy Apple Red doesn't fade. The gold powder would completely cover the white, too. Nothing brightens gold.

*Not approved for use on guitars.

The darkest red I have seen is on Fenders mahogany Strat. The color of the mahogany probably accentuates that. I have a mahogany Godin with a natural satin finish that I think is absolutely gorgeous.

I also used to have a wine red LP back in the 70's. looked great with the cream binding and pick guard. That color scheme on a Strat with a creme pick guard and knobs would look killer. Especially with a maple fretboard.

Oh really! Here's what's wrong with the colors you mention, they don't go with my slippers. Red is my thing, I love it. I have a transparent red ash Telecaster that goes perfectly with these, and my lovely cargo shorts.

I think black guitars, well old car tires are black in the junk yard, so there you go.

Ever notice the cheapest used strats and teles are the black ones? I buy and sell them all the time and stay away from the black ones. Just not as desirable.

I don't really like black on a Fender, personally. It looks plain, imo, even if you throw some gold hardware on it.

For what I think is the classiest looking black guitar, I gotta go with:

I won't even slow down walking by the rack if I see a black Tele, I kind of like a white one, but for someone else not me. A Mary Kay? I thought that was for Strat guys who wear Mark Kay shoes! :D
