I mentioned it in an earlier post about vibrato options for a tele. I'm getting real close to buying one but wanted to know of any horror stories or rave reviews before I take the plunge.

There’s some guy from the UK on this video that considered fitting one. To be honest it’s been that long since I watched it I can’t remember if he did in the end or not. Whatever he did in the end, he did discuss fitting the Stetsbar in some length and discussed some problems he ran into.

I've watched videos of him playing with one on that tele so I guess he kept it!

His World’s Best Tele Series was a 3 video series, I think I’ve linked you to the right part lol. If not you’ll be able to find the right part.

I looked at those things. I ended up going a different route - warmth tele body routed for a strat trem. I ended up going with a hipshot trem. I think it turned out great!

He should learn the correct terminology for the parts if he's going to do these videos.

I was one of the early adopters/users of the Stetsbar and did a ‘Fitting a Stetsbar’ photo album for the UK distributor.

    Here’s the link:

It should be public but let me know as I may have to tweak the ‘share’ settings. There are comments for each picture so you can see what challenges I faced. Very few as I remember but I do recall I had some issues achieve the correct scale length initially, but it was something obvious.

It was hassle free and worked well. I can’t remember why I removed it but I’ve got the urge for another one now.

    Enjoy.

I installed mine the other day with little issue, your pictures helped! The day after I went to go play the guitar and the tail end of the stetsbar was lifting off of the guitar.

I did some reading and saw that it meant the action was too high. I fiddled around with the shim and made it low enough to have the tune o matic as low as possible, but the end of the stetsbar is still pulling away from the guitar.

It's not excessive, but it's enough to make me a little worried. Is this just normal because the screws are in the middle? If the gap doesn't get any bigger I don't mind, but I don't want to ignore a potential catastrophe.

It’s a while since I fitted mine but I recall I some similar issues.

You’ll note from my photos that my bridge was fitted into threaded inserts.

Keep tweaking as mine took a while to settle.

Good luck and let us know how it works out.
