There are some 'sitting up-right' bikes out there that i really like : but most tend to be of the StreetFighter variant.

OK, technically its only a sport bike in a bloated, overweight, shaft drive, pack mule, kinda way. But, lord-a-mighty, what an engine! Concours 1400.

This belongs to a friend,it's a weapon....almost too much, but that's only my age talking! The active suspension makes it quite comfortable too.

    Is MX sporty enough?

This is what I'm riding these days. It was the Dubach Racing Development project bike that was in the Feb. 2014 Motocross Action magazine.

    So fun!

One of my earlier rides, a Triumph Daytona 650, they only made this 650 model for about a year due to wanting to get 675 perfect on launch, was a nice bike but not really an IL4 fan plus the seat height was way to high for a shortarse like me ;)

Back in the mid 80tys I was really into bikes and road racing, I went threw the AFM race coarse at Sears Point (real name) the bike is a yamaha RD400, I lived down in the Marin so I would take the back roads out to HWY 1. The Honda is what I ride now once in a great while I've owned that bike since 67 I did restore it. Also I wish I pictures of me telling the nurses they not going to cut my leathers off. Dam gravel.

I posted my first response on my phone, no pictures… so here's a little in depth reply.

For current bikes I only have one I'd put into the pure "sportbike" category

It's the yellow one in the background, I haven't got any good pics of it online. I bought it brand new in 2000, it's the worst streetbike I've ever owned but I still have it. In 15 years i've put about 7000 miles on it.

I recently bought a new bike that might put the 996 on the market though.

Not a sportbike but with 145hp, brakes off a superbike, and an Ohlins suspension it does a pretty damn good impression of one. It's a heck of a lot more comfy to ride though!

I used to own a Honda 599, does that count? Didnt want to sell it, but could not afford a house, child support, living expenses, and the bike.

Still quick as well, just not modern quick if you know what I mean, plus its got a really low seat height for the somewhat vertically challenged ;) thing is, its the early A1 model which has the 17 inch front wheel, it takes a little getting used too, every time you turn in it feels like its tucking in, its up for sale at the minute, probably going to regret it......
