I've been told that I play just a little off time, but that it sounds good. It makes me a bit self concious, because I never thought of myself as being a loose player. I play heavy punk/hard rock/pop rock type music. I've been playing over 15 years and I really want to improve my timing. I'm mostly self taught, although I did play piano and I know a little basic music theory. My favorite guitarists are jimmy page, hendrix, keef, ron wood, pete townesend, james williamson and tommi iomi. The thing I've allways heard about rock music, is that it isnt meant to be perfect, and I have allways believed that. But along time ago my guitarist buddy did tell me, that timing was a weakness of mine. I have improved alot since then, but now I feel like i should practice on a metronome all the time lol. I've heard people say jimmy page had horrible timing or was a sloppy player, but I have never really noticed. is that true? Are there any other musicians who aren't the most technical that you still enjoy?
