I just got a beauty ash bodied 60th anniversary American Standard. I loved it, but the pickups just couldn't keep up with the mini strat neck and 54 special bridge hd pup's I had in my old cheap tele copy for the last 13 years. Moved them into the tele, and man does it sing now! I have his p90s in another guitar, and they're great, but the tele pups are really something special.

They were the rage here 10 years ago or so, great pickups, I wouldn't hesitate to get another set someday. Super 90 with TBX tone pot and V+ neck was rather incredible, as I remember.

I don't have any HD pickups at the moment but I did have a Super90/Vintage+ tele set...

-Excellent pickups! Very well made and the tone/feel was perfect for me. Great for vintage tones and more modern stuff as well.

I've used the Super 90 Tele bridge pickup a few times, I think one of the best sounding Teles that I ever had was one that I used a Fralin P92 neck pickup and a Harmonic Design S90 in the bridge.
Don't see them around much and not much talk about them here but as Jonz said, they were very popular some years ago on the TDPRI.

Good pups for that overdrive hot rodded thing. I have a Super 90 in an old Tele of mine, and like it fine. However, since I discovered Bill Lawrence a while back ago I really don't use much of anything else....

I still have a Thinline with a V+ set and while the guitar does not get much use (nothing wrong but I now own 2 partcasters that definitely beat any Fender I've own), i have to admit those V+ sound fantastic for rhythm and lead, clean or dirty.

I've got a hd vintage + bridge in my fat tele. It's the only single coil pup I've found that can retain the classic tele tone and keep up with a humbucker neck pup.

I tried the Vintage Plus/Super 90 combination in 1 of my teles and was so
happy with the result I bought 3 more sets so now they're in all 4 of my teles.
They are big and clear sounding and work great clean or dirty.
I play all types blues music and some blues-rock also.

Mini Strat may be one of the best neck pickups.

I have '54 Specials in my main strat, and '54 Specials plus Mini Strat in middle positon in my B bender tele. They've been in there about ten years now, absolutely love 'em.

I have one parts tele with a Z90 in the neck, S90 in the bridge. Also, a thinline parts tele with a Super Chrome in the neck, S90 in the bridge. And though I don't swap many pickups out of new guitars anymore, my CS '57 Strat has an S90 Strat version in the bridge.

You might deduce that I particularly like his S90s. Z90s are awesome as well. I know one guy that has a set in a 335, fabulous.

Yes, I've had a few of the HD Tele pups and thought they were great. I think he makes great pickups, though I did not like the HD P-90's I had.
