I was married to a female big foot once. It was a hairy situation.
Interesting article in the Sept/Oct 2016 Skeptical Inquirer.
Any good-sized library will have it.
The muntjac was undoubtedly known to exist by many people living in the forests of vietnam--in fact, they had physical evidence. Scientists knew that it HAD existed 85 years ago--they had a mounted specimen--but were not sure it still existed. It's been cnfirmed that they still exist (http://blogs.scientificamerican.com...-unseen-for-85-years-photographed-in-vietnam/). It's not like Bigfoot at all--Bigfoot has been claimed to exist, with no reliable physical evidence
So--if you claim there is an unknown animal living in the suburbs of Smyrna Georgia, the burden of proving it exists is on you. The argument you are making here amounts to "the fact that you haven't seen it only confirms that it must exist!
A little websters is in order.
Mystery-that which is not proven
Discovery-that which is.
Now, as far as debunking debunkage.
That can as easily be just more bunk, than proof of life.
"I think you know what I thought you said, but I am entirely uncertain that what you thought you heard was
exactly what I meant".
That's only diatribe.
It would be easy to argue there is as much, or even more proof, there is a Bigfoot, as there is that there is a
great bearded old guy on a cloud ruling all things on heaven and earth.
Yet 80% beleive exactly that.

The same argument is made by Bigfoot believers about gorillas....that once they were only legends and then they were discovered. Well they were only legends to Europeans, they peoples that lived in proximity to them knew all about them.
I believe that the likelihood that there exists a Bigfoot is about the same as the likelihood that Elvis is still alive. In other words....NOPE!
Ummmm. There is many a stuffed 'jackalope' out west.
Would you reguard that as a discovery?
Proof of life?
Would you take a native Indians word for it?
The deer was EXACTLY like Bigfoot is now, at one point.
A straw man arguement even if that deer was proved to have existed two hundred years ago.
Two hundred and one day further back, it would have been thought to no longer exist.
Just like the celocanth(sp) it really doesn't matter at what point in modern history it was discovered.
The point was it was prehistoric.
Only in so much as your living in Arlington VA means
'Military' and 'intelligence' are used in the same sentence and using it in a sentence means the military are intelligent.
I never remotely implied Bigfoots existence.
Only that is is possible to have missed the proof thus far.
You are trying to discredit me, as proof Bigfoot does not exist.
Quid pro quo.
All that is is 'Good lawyering'.
There's a stuffed chipacabra.
It is proof of nothing other than good taxidermy.
Is it possible to have missed proof? Yes.
But again, simple logic dictates that those making the argument for existence of bigfoot must provide proof for same. Those denying the existence do not. Burden of proof.
There's no way to wiggle out of that. And, with the exception of anecdotal evidence, there is none.
Anecdotal evidence doesn't cut the mustard in science. It is not proof.
There's no way to wiggle out of that either.
If one abdicates logic, one should simply admit it and move on. It's not a crime--it just means that you believe in something that cannot be, or is currently not, proven.
But at least admit that you are willing to believe it only through leaving logic behind.
For further research, look into Kirkegaard's leap of faith.

It seems that some of you haven't read it.
Only people who have claimed to see them can say they know for sure. No one in this thread is making any definitive claims, and I for one don't care what any of you believe.
I believe it is possible, aND until I see one myself, it's just a possibility.
There is no burden of proof on anyone.
