Besides the year difference, and major differences between the two?
I bought a CS 52 NOS Tele from Dave's a couple of years ago. I preferred it to a bunch of various 51's that were also in stock there at the time.
I think the main difference between the 51 will come down to having different neck shape options. Mine came with the so called 57 style variation of the soft V, .850" to .990", also 9.5" radius and Sanko 6150's.
What about the new CS Josephine handwound 50/51 nocaster pickups?

They suck (for me) I took them out and replaced them with bardens.
I just bought a CS 52 Telecaster from Daves. From the specs you'd think it was basically a 51 Nocaster with "Telecaster" on the headstock.
Nocaster blond finish, Big fat Nocaster U profile .975 at the first to over and inch at the 12th, hand wound broadcaster bridge PU, hand wound 51 Nocaster in the neck. But the tone is snappy with lots of bite like a 52, more so than any of the several Nocasters I've owned. For me this guitar combines the best of a 51 and 52 and I feel like this guitar was built for me (the way I would have ordered it) even though I bought it off the rack.
