Another seldom mentioned songster from back in the day is the cool man from Chicago known as[The Major], after his first try[Delilah]did little on the charts he was seldom far from the top with[Monkey Time- Come See- Um Um Um Um Um Um- Rhythm- The Matador- Sometimes I Wonder- Girls- Ain't It A Shame- Sweet Music-Without A Doubt- Forever] and into the Seventies The Major was still at it with [Stay Away From Me- Girl Come On Home- Since I Lost My Baby's Love-Chicago Disco]sadly Major Lance fell on hard times in the Eighties, but his musical legacy is legendary...Major Lance- ONE OF THE BEST!!

When I was in High School our band played "Monkey Time". I've heard some of his other songs along the way but that's about the extent of my exposure to his music.

If I recall correctly, his daughter was the Mayor of Atlanta recently.

I suspect I'd have liked a lot of that music better if I hadn't been listening on an AM table radio or worse, a transistor radio.
