I've never entitled a post "Any love for..?" but since I just saw some noiseless p90's on eBay for under 75 clams I had to ask. Seems hard to ignore.

I put a set of Mojo noiseless pickups in my Strat and I'm sure I'd be happy w their p90s, but 250 is a bit steep at the moment.

I bought a Kent Armstrong « Les Paul Junior P90 » (dogear) to replace the P100 on an Epiphone 57 reissue junior. It’s a good pickup, clear and not too hot, with that p90’s touch. It was 70 bucks new. I guess this is imported stuff, as they also have a more expensive hand wound/made in USA series.

I've used their Tele pickups a few times and they sound like a Tele pickup should.

I am a fan of their Stealth 90 (noiseless P90).

Amplified Parts has the Kent Armstrong noiseless P90s for $57.95.

I have a floating "Johnny Smith" type pickup on my Gretsch acoustic archtop made by Kent Armstrong, and it works fine and sounds like a vintage archtop.

I had a set of Kent's noiseless P90s and they were very nice. Didn't quite hit the mark for me tonally, but that wasn't the pickups' fault. Great clarity and despite the high resistance, they are not a high-output design (they just use really thin wire).

I also traded a couple emails with Kent and he was a super good guy.

It looks like some good quality Asian guitars (Eastman, Peerless) use a lot of Armstrong pickups. I have a pair of Armstrong minibuckers in a Tele Jr build and they have a very good jazz tone and amp-driving output. They had “made in Japan” stickers on them. I’ll probably try Armstrong again.

I have a tele set in the parts drawer. Didn't care for them.

Found a picture of the bridge pup, I assume the neck is whatever pairs with this one.

My Joe Morell lap steel is a hunk o junk but the Kent Armstrong single coil sized humbucker in it is amazing sounding.

Yeah, I think the money I spent on my Bareknuckle P90's was worth it, I'm just so sick of the noise. Can't deal with it anymore. Maybe I'll feel better if I actually sell the existing pickups first, instead of just saying I will to justify another purchase, and then keeping them forever.

Any news on Kent & the company? It looks like WD Music is clearing them out, and Kent's website (the one linked on the Facebook page) appears to be gone, as well...
