Anyone here enjoy playing Ibanez acoustics? I have recently picked up two of them and have really enjoyed my time with them. The first one was a Talman. Kind of a thin bodied offset type of guitar. Only paid $135 for the guitar and a hard case. I have played this guitar more than any others since I got it! It’s just fun to pick up and play. And the second is an AEG series that I just picked up a couple days ago. I got it all cleaned and set up with new strings tonight. Too early to know for sure, but so far I really like this one as well. And this one only cost me $60! I bought both with the intentions of flipping them, but we will have to keep them around for a little while to see if I really want to sell them! LOL

I've had two; a 6-string acoustic and now I've got a 12-string A/E. Both all laminate. Got the 6-string for $75 used at GC and then bought the 12-string as a B-stock for $199 because I liked the first so much.

Both sound and feel as good as some of the solid-tops I've had in the past. Yay for cheap Ibanez acoustics!

Not an acoustic, but I’m loving my Ibanez Stagestar that someone on CL gave me free, on the condition that I also give it away free when I part with it; which I will do, when I part with it, except that it feels and plays so nice that I want to keep it!

I did pay a local, high-end guitar builder $60 to set it up. He seemed skeptical at first, but when he gave it back a week later he said, “I see what you mean about that Ibanez, it just has something.”

The guy who gave it to me liked the neck and you can tell by the wear he gave it. It’s quite banged up and I haven’t even plugged it in yet since the builder’s workshop, but it keeps calling me to pick it up and the vibration of the strings is just bursting like it can’t keep it in. Really like it!

Ibanez has always made solid, quality instruments. The acoustics have a tendency to be a little TOO solid which makes for good abuse-resistance and longevity, but not so much for rich tone. But those made with solid woods can stand on par with many other more expensive imports. Typically good fit/finish, but some of the early models had some issues with poor neck stability over time.

I've had an Artwood AC30-NT five years. I don't play acoustic a lot, but this one is a good fit for me. Like most Ibanez's I've tried, it has a very comfortable neck. I'd agree with Boreas that the guitar might be a tad too sturdy, but for the money, it's a great choice.

A friend of mine had one back in the day (‘80s)and we both played it quite a bit. It sounded good, and played well too. I have no idea what model it was, but it was a dread.

I've had this for about 10-12 years now...

Ibanez 610.jpg

it's a 610, which i can find virtually no information on.

The eagle eyed will notice that it's strung left handed, and since that photo was taken, i had this done...

I have it tuned to open D with standard electric strings on, and love it.

I've got a couple...LOVE 'em both. They're both maple bodies too, which is my favorite.
I bought this 1981 340M a few years back for next to nothing. It had been someone's main guitar or road guitar for years...extremely well maintaine, but hardly any frets left. Sometime this year I plan refretting her.

A few years ago I found this...a '78 J-540AV. Not many of these around...or a lot of info on them. The years before these were basically J-200 copies. They just redesigned one of the more obvious Gibson aspects....the bridge.
Probably my favorite acoustic.
