Yep, still love the old stuff the most.
Nothing against the English guys that sold it back to us in the 60s but it's good to hear the real thing.

My guess would be that just about everyone here is a fan of the above. I sure am.

Just about everyone. I simply cannot listen to the old stuff. I don't relate to it at all.

Of course, love all of them. I’m also big on Charlie Patton, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Blake, and Lonnie Johnson.

With everything going on, I’ve really been honing my acoustic playing and revisiting a lot of the delta guys.

The smoothed out Chicago style blues kind of loses the wild nature of the pure, uncut Mississippi country stuff.

This! And all the contemporary blues folks tend to sound a lot like Buddy Guy. (Who I love too)

I've lived a sheltered life apparently. Gotta get out more.

Oh yes. 50 years ago this summer, I was a NYC kid spending several weeks in GreatFalls Montana. One day I had a couple hours of free time so my girlfriend (now my wife of 46 years) went to the public library and I found some records to listen to, right there. It was Big Bill Broonzy - and it changed musical taste forever. I fell in love with the blues. Whether it’s Mississippi John Hurt, BB, Sun House, John Lee Hooker, Lightning Hopkins, or Robert Cray - I’ll always love this music.

This woman was (arguably) the link between blues and what became Rock and Roll.

I've never played acoustic blues this well and I've never looked this good in sunglasses.
