Any experience with Northwest Guitars UK?

Has anybody dealt with Northwest Guitars in the UK? How are their products? Do they make the bodies themselves?

I was thinking of buying a tele body off them, any one purchased anything from N.W, Although they don't seem to have much in stock

Saw them at the Liverpool guitar show at Aintree. I'm pretty sure they buy the bodies in from the far east. The stock looked ok, no nitro stuff though. Haven't bought from them because I wanted to go for nitro finishes.

Their stock has got "Far East" written all over them. Terms like "Kluson-style" and "Sperzel-style", and they have some info on their FAQs:

South Korean parts are generally considered of better quality the those from other countries such as China, where attention to detail and quality control is not necessarily as good. I'm not sure I'd buy from a "custom builder" with "craftsmanship like this:

I was pleased to see that "Simon Brady, "BCMA Musician of the Year"" appears to be playing a guitar without a Fender decal.

They don't seem to have any bodies in stock at the moment, stock is due to arrive anytime in reply to my email.
Maybe they will be at the Manchester guitar show in a few weeks, if not i'll go for an allparts or wd.

Have you tried the ever reliable Jackie and Tony at Axesrus?

They appear to have the same bodies in stock and they are great to deal with.

I'm certainly not a card carrying member of the Anti decal party', but there are limits, and selling clearly lower (not saying 'bad' - just lower) quality necks with Fender logos is not good practice, and it wouldn't endear me to a Commercial trader who does so.


Another vote for for Axesrus here.

I have always had great service.
Even with their budget stuff - I get the feeling they give a hoot about making sure its good for the task, and they describe it well.

Recently I did have an issue with one item I bought from Axesrus - the first ever issue, and it was sorted swiftly, and without any fuss.
Sometimes things go wrong - it happens. If it is dealt with well, that's all part of good service in my book.

I've purchased some bits and pieces off Axes R Us and they are great to deal with........i think they sell mightry mite bodies and necks.
Reading here it seems that mighty mite don't have a great reputation for bodies and necks or has this changed over the last year or two?

+++++++++1 on axesrus brilliant service and very good quality parts,

there is a custom body maker who spray in nitro in the uk they had a really nice Hendrix monterey copy body but alas i cant afford it.

Wanted a neck from them couple or three years back. Didn't have it in stock, gave me some reasons and asked that I call back in a couple of weeks. When I did, more excuses. Gave up the third time I called, six weeks after the first.

If you want a body in the UK, try guitar build. Then use retro169 for a nitro finish.
