Antigua finish Fenders, you either love 'em or hate 'em. There's no in between with when it comes down to it.

Looks like they came from Tschernobyl. Fortunately I've only met one of those once. Are they under quarantine? ;)

Actually I am ambivalent about it.
I wouldn't mind if a great playing guitar was in Antigua but I wouldn't necessarily seek one out.
Sorry to burst your theory. :)

An "antigua" scratch plate/pick guard on a Blizard Pearl New American Standard with a rosewood fret board could look something like that Strat.....
    Anyone make "antigua" scratch plate/pickguards?

Doesn't matter whether you like it or not. When you're playing it you ain't the one looking at it.

Last thread on "antigua" I can recall somebody described the finish as "snotburst". I think each to his own and have no problem with that particular finish but laughed over that comment for several days. Very creative

That got me chuckling too. Not my desert island finish.

I love, love, love Antigua! I've also always referred to it as "Snotburst". :D

I dislike it profusely. But I guess some folks like it, I have not met anyone else that does though...

Samick had a line of pastel colored "sunburst" solidbody guitars. (TV Twenty)
But they did not have pickguards.

That's the most off-putting feature of the Fender Antiguas is the hinky shaded pickguards.

I agree with you. They all look good except for the acoustic.

I HAD FORGOTTEN ALL ABOUT APPLIANCES!!!

Now I remember our sunburst fridge when I was a kid. Wish that I could find a picture.

Oh, & hate Antigua. (although my son loves it)
The Antiqua burst on the headstock of the rosewood boarded ones is particularly nauseating.

Very cartoonish looking. Roger Rabbit would look right at home playing one.

I had a CIJ Antigua for a while. The pickups weren't all that good I must say. Replaceable of course, but I decided that I would sell it and use the money to invest in a guitar that I wouldn't have to mod. Ordered a Highway One Telecaster in three-tone Sunburst.
