It seems like I'm always the bearer of bad news....*sigh*

My Mom's BIL (my uncle by marriage) passed away sometime last night/early this morning from a suspected heart attack. He was 86 and had suffered with ddementia for the last few years. Errily, he had told my Stepdad and my Mom both earlier this week that he wouldn't be here much longer - and Mom said this morning that she could tell that he was getting to the point of barely being able to get up out of his rocking chair in the living room (that's where they found him with the television still on from either last night or this morning).

I'm sad but - I'm glad that he's not suffering with dementia any longer and he's with his wife and a daughter (a cousin who passed away earlier this year).

Still, it's a sad day here.....

    :(

    Condolences, tonytrout.
It's a sad day when our circle of family and friends gets smaller.

I'm truly sorry to hear the news. Dementia sucks. I've been through it with my wife's grandparents. God bless all of you. Hang in there man.

As my Grandmother used to tell me, We should mourn the death of a child and celebrate the lives of the old when they die. To be around until 86 means he had a lot of life and during some very interesting times. Having a Father lost in his own mind with ALZ, I don't think that is any way to live so he was saved from that.

It is always a sad day, but don't let it be. Celebrate the man's life and support each other.
