That’s exactly how I use my Digitech JamMan stereo looper. Like a two track deck. I’d love to Busk with it but it’s AC and that’s a hassle, so I got a NUX deluxe for that. I don’t hear of many people doing it the way we do it?

Forces you to choose your levels and do your mastering right there. I like it it’s quick and easy. I think it gives your stuff a nice raw feel, it sounds good to me.

Yeah, man. I have done better than this most recent foray, but I dig it kinda and am honestly too lazy to do it over again right now. Just was jonesing to make something! My New Year’s resolution is to get a proper recording setup at least partially going this year. Glad to hear someone else is making do like this. I’m always adding things in our Twanger section-it’s all done into that looper-Long ago it started with a Digitech GNX, something or other a large floor thing with its own recording, but that part was broken when I got it, So I just used the drums and guitar and bass effects.

I did my earlier, SoundCloud recordings on those 2into headphones.
Then I started listening back on my vintage stereo into Polk Audio bookshelves. If I really wanted to hear the bass occasionally I’d power up the Bowers and Wilkins subwoofer.

I always check my local Sam Ash for used stuff-I picked up a Behringer Composer, pro XL-It was only 30 bucks used. It works perfectly, They call it an audio, interactive dynamics processor. On a different day Sam Ash I found a used Barringer 1202 XENIX fx mixer, that was only 60 bucks and totally worth it!

Then I started thinking the stereo is probably coloring the sound too much, So I got some powered Resolve monitors… and a beat buddy for drums… And a Pod Go For guitar and bass, pads & trippy sounds, plus better Reverbs… it gets crazy!

But I wouldn’t change it for the world! When I used to play professionally I would record for folks, but I never had my own stuff. I never learned ProTools, I didn’t even have computers.

Yeah, I just listened to that, sounds cool and clear. It sounds totally fine without bass and drums. If you don’t have those, but you’d like to add them to some of your songs-I hope I’m not telling you something you already know- There’s lots of drum loops out there for free and if you have a multi effects with harmonizer, you can lower it down to 12 or 24 Or even a boss octave box. I’ve got totally fine fun results just tuning my guitar way down for bass notes! Probably stuff you all know.

I’m listening in between writing this, and I especially like those rhythmic stabs, it’s up in the middle, that might be considered a solo section, really cool.

Thanks dude! I also appreciate your suggestions about drums. Once I get a more solid recording setup with a DAW and all, I will flirt with programmed drums a bit. Honestly though, I have a bit of an aversion to programmed beats--which probably is entirely unwarranted--and I actually would like to get good at recording hand percussion as a way to better fill out my stuff. Yeah, I totally hear you about the drums. A lot of The stuff like the beat buddy they are all real drums, well recorded parts. There’s a lot of free stuff on YouTube also and even just your phone. We can record pieces of drummers stuff on YouTube, and insert into our stuff! I just saw a young African girl doing loops and she added percussion parts on the fly. I’ve been keeping my eyes open. Looking for small inexpensive percussion.

Here is my little creation center. I just monitor everything out of my amps, and the 720 Looper is my “recorder.” I dump the finished songs onto my old digital recorder to burn them to disc. It is bass-ackwards, but really a convenient way to have my little solitary jam sessions turn into a song writing and recording ventures. Happens all the time!
