The "old picture" thread that @jhundt started made me think of an old pic of me that I recently rediscovered.
    2001-2002 - Me & Corbin.jpg

This a picture of me with one of my grandsons, my youngest's firstborn. That boy just turned 18.

So one takeaway from this is the photographic evidence of the long term consistency of my look: long hair, long beard, T-shirt, blue jeans.(Those weren't cut offs, just big holes in both knees. My wife frowned on me wearing them anywhere but at home, and even then...)

It also shows that I used to be Gandalf the Gray but have now transitioned to Gandalf the White. Also that my hairline has made a "balderdash."

One of my favorites from my childhood, circa 1974, taken with my cousins Dawn and Jennifer. I must have been about two years old, and I was rocking some flashy pants!

I like what you did there! But, I noticed that your hair got longer, while mine got shorter!

Of course, if we're talking about a pic that's "really old"...

Me and my best man! I’m in the background on the skins, and “Roll” is on the guitar. This jam was from 1975, in my first apartment, with my first wife. I think she took this photo! I was 19 going on 20.

I didn’t start playing guitar until about 1978.

I definitely don’t remember that shirt?! Probably something my first wife bought me?!

    See what you started?!?

Actually, I'll take responsibility for my own actions. Your old pic was just a reminder. I had thought of that pic because, as I said, the grandson in the picture just recently turned 18.

My big brother showing me how to hold a uke properly back in the '50s. I could actually play it a few years later. Still can. :)

1A1E2A88-F78F-4305-AA29-0C16BED9C977.jpeg My first magazine cover, circa 1988. The other guy, Steve, was the drummer in most of my high school bands. The first time I played guitar with a drummer, it was that guy. We’ve gone a decade without seeing each other a couple of times, but we’ve played together a handful of times the past 7-8 years.

Dude was a huge Zeppelin nerd. So naturally, he was a really heavy handed teen drummer. When we got together in 2012 to play together for the first time since probably the early 90s, I was pleasantly surprised to note how much more nuanced his playing had become.

Makes me wish he lived nearby...
