    Hi All.

hope you are all well. Found my way here when I was looking for opinions on a Nashville Deluxe.

only been hacking at and murdering riffs for only a couple of years. I’ve a MIM player series telecaster which is just the most wonderful guitar for the price. I’ve a Gretsch Jet as well had issues with that but that’s for another time and place but still a nice guitar to play. But the go to is definitely the Tele.

Welcome. You pose an interesting question about owning a MIM and considering a Nashville. My avatar Telecaster started it's life as a Nashville. I now have two Stratocasters in addition to it, plus two more electrics. I don't want to give buying advice on specific instruments because I'm not you. My #1 is now a Custom Shop '69 Strat. I love the low wind single coil pickups. I rewired it to give me the neck and bridge pickup combination in place of the bridge and middle. My Telecaster now has N4 noiseless pickups. My suggestion is to try a Nashville. The Vintage Noiseless pickups may be dull sounding compared to the pickups in your MIM or you may love them, especially with distortion. You may or may not appreciate the quack. I'd also try a number of Stratocaster models in your price range. If you like one but miss the bridge and neck, switch places between the neck and middle pickups. Your 5 way switch positions will be changed to:
    1. Bridge
    2. Bridge and neck
    3. Neck
    4. Middle and Neck
    5. Middle
The middle pickup tone will run through T1. Positions 1, 2, and 3 will run through T2. IMO, short of switching for 7 sounds, that's the perfect layout for a Strat.

Good luck to you whatever you choose. Don't be hasty. Take your time and find a second Fender that can be the guitar of your dreams.

Thank you for the thought out reply.
The model I’m looking at has tex mex pick ups, from what I’ve read these are overwound and hotter pick ups.
It may look like I’m lurching from guitar to guitar but looking at fender twin HB 70’s vintners as well as an option. I lost mom in March, this guitar will be how I mark this (some people get tattoos etc) I want this to mean something, so when I pick this guitar up….

I’m sorry about your mom. My Telecaster came with Tex/Mex pickups. You’re right about their being hot. Overwound pickups can be noisy. The best thing about a Telecaster is that it can be anything you want it to be as many times as you want to change it. Enjoy a long and happy stay here at TDPRI.
