instead of skinning it out and having a beautiful keepsake and trophy, he elected to whine to the news and etc.

DON"T ACT LIKE PREY!

Second rule:

Be faster than the guy next to you. :)

I ride MTB's in the Pacific Northwest, we run into predator wildlife all the time. Baby Bear cubs, Mt Lion cubs, etc. We know that is not where we should be and off to some place else. We also have regular training in wildlife detection and avoidance. When confronted you have to appear more dangerous and bigger than the other predator. They usually run away when they think there is going to be a fight.

Been there on a bike before. Good news is a guy on a bike looks pretty big to lions and bob cat.
